That Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) have enjoyed an unprecedented run of success this season should come as news to no ardent football supporter.
For the majority of the 2016 – 2017, Mike Mutebi has led his men in to valiant victory after valiant victory, ultimately losing only four games on the local scene besides taking part in continental football for most of the second half of the season.
And KCCA FC today held onto their 3-2 win over Express FC in the 1st leg semifinal of the 2017 FUFA Uganda Cup to advance to the final.
A draw is all the Kasasiro Boys – recently crowned Uganda Premier League champions needed advance to the final of the country’s oldest tournament slated for June 10th at the Betway Green Light Stadium.
They play against West Nile based Paidha Black Angels who edged past Sadolin Paints over two legs.
Again, this makes for an interesting scenario in which both sides are more than qualified for the role of this year’s cup winners, though given Paidha’s inexperience and recent spell of bad luck in second tier Big League, contrasted against KCCA’s run-away season, most pundits seem to have their money firmly behind The Kampala boys for a domestic double.
