The man who famously led a bloody coup against his own uncle to become the Equatorial Guinea President, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, is visiting Uganda today.
Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo is not a widely known name — but the president of Equatorial Guinea known as ‘The Boss’ is the longest serving world leader.
Now 74, Obiang Nguema arrives in the country on Wednesday afternoon for a 2-day state visit on the invitation of his longtime ally, President Yoweri Museveni.
Uganda and Equatorial Guinea have excellent co-operation and friendship relations.
H.E Mbasogo and Mr. Museveni are expected to attend the ongoing the Joint Oil & Gas Convention and the Regional Logistics Expo 2017 and both leaders will be addressing the symposium at the Kampala Serena Hotel Conference Centre.
This is the 3rd annual Oil & Gas Convention and the innuagural Regional Logistics Expo (which aspires to transform Uganda into a regional Logistics Hub).
A number of exhibitors and delegates are in attendance.
