Lt Col Deo Akiiki Asiimwe recalled by Gen. Museveni in new UPDF reshuffle

President Museveni has made a fourth army reshuffle within two months, with the latest changes announced in the Uganda People Defence Forces communications department. In the latest changes, Lt Col Deo Akiiki Asiimwe who is away finalising strategic studies in USA, has been appointed to deputise Brig Richard Karemire who is the UPDF spokesman.

Akiiki, a longtime army publicist who has also severed in Mogadishu, Somalia under Amisom had before going abroad been  the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence as the Director of Strategic Communication, a new directorate formed last year. He was replaced this month former army spokesperson, Lt Col Paddy Ankunda.

Other officers transferred include Major Anthony Kiconco Tabaro has been appointed as production and marketing officer in the Directorate of Information and Major Peter Mugisha who has been appointed spokesman for the Second Division in Western Uganda.
