Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club has today announced that chairman Ali Ssekatawa will step down at the end of this month and be replaced by Kizza James who has been their Director of Marketing.
Article 12(g) of the URA FC amended constitution requires the offices of the URA Football Club Chairman, treasurer and secretary to be filled by URA Staff.
Mr. Ali Ssekatawa was appointed Director Legal and Corporate affairs in the Petroleum Authority of Uganda which makes him illegible for the post of the Club Chairman as per the Constitution.
It has been a challenging time to be the URA FC chairman, but Ssekatawa has worked tirelessly to establish a good platform for the club to grow after financial insecurity and threat of player mutiny last season.
Due to increasing commitments elsewhere, Ssekatawa has decided the time is right to step down, however he will remain with the club as Vice Chairman 1 and assist the new chairman where needed.
