Makerere University School of Law has cancelled an examination over massive cheating by some desperate students.
The exam was sat on Monday morning by 4th year students at the School of Law.
Desperate students especially those who have done more than one retake were jubilating untill Mr Yusuf Nsibambi who teaches company law walked into examination room at the end of the exam
and said there was a problem and that a fresh exam would be prepared.
According to some students at the school of law, there was massive leakage and that some students had entered the examination room with their smartphones to aid cheating.
The School of Law has started investigating the matter to establish the actual culprits who will appear before the examinations irregularities committee.
Moments later, Dr Damalie Nagita Musoke the principal at the school issued a statement notifying the students that the exam had been canceled.
According to the regulations at the university, a student only has three chances to retake a paper, if they fail at the third attemp they are expelled from the university.
This partly explains why some students hire mercenaries to do for them coursework while others are desperate to cheat.
More drama
Meanwhile, there was drama as one of the students in the same examination room was nabbed with a forged examination permit, one of the requirements before sitting each exam.
The student was then arrrested and detained at Wandegeya police station before he was orderd to lead police to where the fake permit had been obtained.
He reportedly led police to Nasser road where police mounted another operation to crackdown on those that Issue fake documents.
