The State Minister for Health and General Duties, Sarah Opendi has referred to Tanga Odoi, the former chairman of the academic staff association at Makerere (Muasa), as not ‘the kind of man she can fall in love with’ after claiming he rejected her love advances.
Ms. Opendi and Tanga Odoi, the NRM EC chairperson have for weeks been bickering public and the Honorable Minister’s latest revelations have been described as below the belt.
Minister Opendi told New Vision: “That is nonsense, you look at me, Sarah Opendi: the way I look: do you then I can have a relationship with a man like Tanga (Odoi)! Short as he is! You actually believe he is the kind of man I can go for? That he is a man I can admire? Loudmouth!
She continued, “That man has a mental problem! You cannot wake up one day and start imagining falsehood. I have never even known of a Tororo girl who approaches a man for love. And I can assure you Tanga is not my kind of person. I don’t like ugly and short men!
The duo’s skeletons were last month unsealed after Opendi suggested at a Church fundraising function in Tororo that Odoi takes a mental examination to establish whether he is in full control of his faculties, he had an apt rebuttal.
Responding to Opendi’s claims, Odoi claims that the minister’s ire stems from unrequited love when they were still young. “I refused to take Hon. Sarah Opendi as my girlfriend,” He says in relation to the mental case claims.
In a televised news clip, Minister Opendi also accuses Dr. Tanga Odoi of spreading rumors in Tororo district, accusing her of bewitching the late district Chairperson Apollo Jaramogi who passed away recently.
