Uganda’s leading opposition leader, Dr. Kizza Besigye on Sunday wore muslim clothes to show solidarity while attending Duwa prayers for Sheikh Raman Mukasa Kakooza.
According to Besigye’s aides, the four-time presidential aspirant was the only politician who was allowed to address the gathering in Mukono.
The late Kakooza was the father to Sheik Raman Hussein Kakooza, who is the Head Sharia at Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, the mother organization and governing body of Muslims in Uganda that unifies organization of 6 million Muslims in Uganda and supervises the activities of the 7000 mosques in the country. The UMSC also coodinates all Dawah activities in the country.
Sheikh Kakooza is Col Kizza Besigye’s personal friend as well as one of his advisors and tutors on religious matters.
Besigye said, “I have not come here for politics or anything but honestly Sheik Raman Hussein Kakooza is my very good friend and a very good advice of mine.”
He also talked about the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States and ex-President Yahya Jammeh leaving The Gambia after losing election, insisting that everything has its time.
