The Makerere University (MAK) Vice Chancellor Prof. Barnabus Nawangwe has applauded Makerere University Business School (MUBS) for establishing a program that has provided an opportunity for Luzira government prison inmates to get enrolled for further studies.

He says this is a great initiative that has seen 90 inmates get enrolled at MUBS with all the facilities being provided to them for favourable environment.

Prof. Nawangwe said this while delivering his speech on the third of the four day 68th MAK graduation ceremony where over 3600 students from MUBS include 8 institution staff that have been confirmed with PHDs.

However, Nawangwe has announced that soon the university will be issuing transcripts to students before the graduation and then graduates receive only certificates on the ceremony.

The best overall student is Ms. Namyenya Caroline who graduated with Bachelor of Commerce degree with Accounting Option scooping a CGPA of 4.95.

It is day three of Makerere University’s 68th graduation ceremony being held at the main campus in Kampala.
