2017 Afcon: Eco-bank collects more funds for Uganda Cranes

As the national football team The Cranes, fly to Libreville, Gabon to a make what looks like a second debut in the 50-year-old continental championship – 2017 Africa Nations Cup, local bank, Eco Bank this week made a final push to raise money and help the team’s poor financial position.

The bank through a number of platforms is asking individual and corporate Uganda to contribute whatever they have to ensure Cranes players are comfortable during the tournament which kicks off tomorrow.

On Thursday, a team of sales executives went around, parliament moved to join the fundraising drive.

 

Artists like pastor Wilson Bugembe and Bobi Wine have joined the drive to donate as well to help facilitate the national team while in Gabon

According to the procedure, football fans are supposed to deposit at least Shs10, 000 on an account titled, Fufa-Uganda Cranes (0069166105476001).

Eco bank is seeking to raise Shs6bn in a promotion that and about 50 fans winners of weekly raffle draws have already been given an all-expenses paid trip to the Gabon for Uganda’s group stage games.
